On the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) today...
# a well-dressed man in a shirt and tie rushes to grab a seat when he boarded the train at City Hall station, proceeds to pull out his Dell notebook, starts it up, and proceeds to ... PLAY SOLITAIRE! What?!!?
# what a lovely sight and good change of scenery it is to observe three of the most well-behaved and courteous children, all under the age of seven. They were on the train from Eunos to Jurong East and never once made a ruckus. The little girl in her pink dress was especially sweet, sitting quietly by herself, legs crossed and engrossed in her book. Why can't more parents teach their children well like this trio?
# finally saw the much-touted electronic destination indicator (or whatever they call that) and (you know what?) it looks strangely like a perfect replica of the system on the Hong Kong MTR. Did someone say it was an innovative solution?
# woman standing really close to me (gotta "love" them packed trains) whipped out her mobile phone and started playing Sudoku. OK, I know this is cheap but I got a little kick solving part of the puzzle before she did. Yes, sometimes I thrive on pretty mundane thrills.
